Skateboarding

Skateboarding is seen by some as a mode of transportation, not that different from riding a bike. Others see skateboards as a way to get a daily dose of adrenaline. Here is a look at what makes the skateboard so popular.

For many skateboarders, simply rolling down the street is not enough. Many use skate boarding as a way to defy physics, using their skate boards to slide down handrails and stairs or across the backs of benches. The skate board appeals to the group of people that thrive on the thrill of Adrenaline and the risk involved.

The average skateboarder may be addicted to the danger and the excitement of skateboarding. This causes many skate boarders to push the boundaries, learning new tricks and stunts that continue to give them the adrenaline that they crave and the feeling of invincibility.

In the urban habitat, skateboards are not all created equal. While old school skateboards are great for basic skating moves, they may not work for certain stunts that other skateboards will. For that, many skateboarders will try a variety of boards, including different numbers and types of wheels and different board designs. With each new design comes a variety of different stunt possibilities. Each new stunt pushes skateboarders further along the edge, making skateboarding falls a higher risk.

Some towns will post no skateboarding signs around the different parks, making it illegal to skate in several areas. This has caused an increase in the number of skateboarding parks around the country. There skateboarders can go to practice their skills, share skateboarding tips, and learn new stunts. Some will even go on to participate in skateboard games like the X games.

At the parks, skateboarders can also see the variety of upgrades that other skaters employ. Wood skate board wheels and motorized skateboards offer new designs that open a new realm of possibilities for stunts.

Oftentimes, these stunts will put skateboarders at an increase risk for injury, though for many skateboarders, this does not matter. The added element of danger often causes them to push themselves harder to try and master more difficult tricks.

Of the ramps, skateboarders can turn to the Internet to help fuel their addiction. They can surf websites devoted to skateboarding, start their own blogs, or download skateboard wallpaper. The Internet helps to put them in contact with other enthusiasts to share tricks, tips, and ideas with boarders around the world.
