The Chocolate skateboard company was founded in 1996. It started when more professional skateboarders wanted to join Girl Skateboards, however, at the time the Girl team was full. Chocolate was then started to be a sister company. The teams also included in the family are: Lakai, Royal, and Fourstar. They may be seen as separate teams, but the skaters appear in the videos put out by the different teams, riders will use any board in the family, and the teams will often tour together.
Current skaters on the Chocolate team include: Marc Johnson, Gino Iannucci, Chris Roberts, Chico Brenes, Kenny Anderson, Scott Johnston, Daniel Castillo, Justin Eldrige, Devine Calloway, and Anthony Pappalardo.
