Whoever thought that paintball was just for guys was wrong. There are plenty of paintball babes out playing the sport.

Of course, just because they are “paintball chicks” does not mean that they cannot hold their own against their male counterparts. While many of the chicks of paintball may have been introduced to the sport by a male counterpart, many enjoy the thrill of playing on all girl teams. They feel that they can communicate better on the field, making them a force to be reckoned with.

While you may be able to find plenty of photos of your favorite sexy paintball chick, on the field it may be impossible to tell what gender you are up against. Men and women can play together on the same team or there can be men-only and women-only team. Once on the field, it can be difficult if not impossible to distinguish from female players.

As far as the gear goes, it does not matter whether you are a girl or a guy – it is still all the same. Everyone has their favorite gun type, which seems to cross all genders, so there is no such thing as a “girl’s gun”. Everyone wears complete facial masks, making it difficult or impossible to see facial features, and the full body armor favored by many players to avoid injury does a good job of hiding any physical characteristics.

Before you consider joining a paintball team, you want to make sure that you know all the rules of the game. Consider joining some friends for a few sparring matches first. Then, once you get a feel for the gear, your weapon, and the rules of the game, you can get into an amateur league. Many professional teams have their start in amateur roots. By consistently winning tournaments and showing cohesion as a team, you may just find yourself climbing the ranks to pro.

Of course, in a male-dominated sport, you may have to break through some gender barriers on the way to the top. However, for the women that have made it, the thrill of the game and winning is often enough to sustain them.
